"We are a collective of Latinos united by a shared mission: To reshape perceptions around cannabis use. Aware that our work might face skepticism, we are committed to challenging outdated narratives and creating a safe, welcoming space for those seeking relief.
Our founders include two veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. While some may label them as disabled, they choose to focus on their resilience and determination to make a positive impact. Like many veterans, they have faced the challenges of pain management and the harsh side effects of traditional medications, which too often lead to addiction and substance abuse.
Through their journey, they discovered the transformative potential of alternative medicine, regaining control over their daily lives. However, the stigma attached to purchasing the products associated with consuming alternative medicines —often compounded by unwelcoming or unprofessional storefronts—underscored the need for change.
This realization led to the creation of Trakas Smoke Shop, a space dedicated to setting new industry standards. Our goal is to eliminate stigma, foster acceptance, and provide a supportive environment for those exploring alternative pain relief.
